1. Fact-Checking Policy

Aamader Malda is committed to fact-checking in a fair, translucent, and unbiased manner. We strive for high editorial standards. Our reporters must be precious with their words, headlines, and URLs. They must understand that their words possess power and act responsibly. In doing so, reporters must verify the information they gather. These include identifying information such as names and position but also include factual statements and accounts. Reporters conduct their own fact-checking using their own judgment guided by the ethics policy.

Aamader Malda News has no political connections. We believe in fact-checking news from all ends of the political spectrum and apply the same standards to claims irrespective of who originate them. We call out fake news without fear or favor. Aamader Malda News explains in detail how the claim was debunked. This is done in the interest of transparency, and it also serves an educational purpose, guiding the readers on how to evaluate claims which they may come across in the future. Aamader Malda will use fact-checkers in certain circumstances it deemed warranted.

2. Correction Policy

In journalism, mistakes can happen even after hard work and application of particular methods. In Aamader Malda, we do not hesitate to correct it and respond when it comes to our notice. Aamader Malda also monitors its broad presence on social media platforms and welcomes feedback and exposition from our readers.

Aamader Malda Fact Check corrects errors as quickly as possible and with high levels of transparency. If the correction is straightforward, we mark the correction within 24 hours of being pointed out. But if the correction involves the further investigation or reaching out to people for their reactions, the correction may take up to 72 hours. We value feedback from our readers, which can be posted in the comments section at the end of every story, video or post. A request for correction or an update in a story can also be sent to response@aamadermalda.in. Corrections in typographical glitches, misspellings, grammatical errors that are not considered significant by editors are not usually noted.
